Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 April 2026

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and function correctly. Some cookies are essential — without them, the website cannot work. Others are optional and require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).

2. Our approach to cookies

TaleBuzzer is a platform designed for children. We apply a privacy-first approach to cookies. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookies that profile users for commercial purposes. We do not allow advertisers to place cookies through our platform.

We use only the cookies necessary to operate TaleBuzzer securely and remember your preferences.

3. Cookies we use

Essential cookies (no consent required)

These cookies are strictly necessary for TaleBuzzer to function. Without them, you cannot log in, your session cannot be maintained, and the platform cannot operate securely.

tb_preview_countTaleBuzzerPersistentStored in localStorage. Tracks preview stories generated on this device (limit: 2).

Analytics cookies

We do not currently use analytics cookies or third-party analytics platforms. If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent before any analytics cookies are set.

Advertising cookies

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not allow third-party advertisers to place cookies through TaleBuzzer. TaleBuzzer products are entirely ad-free.

4. Third-party cookies

Our sub-processors — Supabase, Stripe, and Vercel — may set technical cookies necessary for their services to function. These are limited to session management, security, and fraud prevention. None of these third parties use cookies placed through TaleBuzzer for advertising or cross-site tracking purposes.

When you make a payment, Stripe may set cookies on their checkout interface for fraud prevention. You can review Stripe's cookie policy at stripe.com/cookies-policy.

5. Children and cookies

In accordance with the ICO Age Appropriate Design Code, we do not place non-essential cookies in connection with child profile activity. The child-facing sections of TaleBuzzer use only localStorage for saving reading preferences, which is not transmitted to third parties.

We apply the highest privacy settings by default for all users, as required by Children's Code Standard 7.

6. How to manage cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or receive warnings before a cookie is set. However, blocking essential cookies will prevent TaleBuzzer from functioning correctly.

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data

Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

Firefox: Options → Privacy and Security → Cookies and Site Data

Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

To delete localStorage data set by TaleBuzzer, open your browser's developer tools, navigate to Application → Local Storage, and delete entries beginning with "tb_".

7. Changes to this policy

We will notify registered users of any material changes to this Cookie Policy. Changes take effect 14 days after notification.
